Robe à la francaise

A girl's dream come true

Ansicht Kundin

Period: around 1780

Based on an original cut from the second half of the 18th century we crafted this robe à la francaise. It is made of a sumptuous silk-lampas fabric with the typical curved Rococo pattern of unique coloration and styling.

To show off this fantastic fabric we consciously decided for a modest garnish. It does repeat the curved pattern but is only used sparingly.

In contrast, the sleeves are generously adorned with antique lace. We further designed a corresponding neckband of antique lace for this robe à la francaise. The top is attached to a linen bodice. The bodice itself is furnished with a back lacing for the perfect width control.

As undergarment serve on the other hand a rococo corset with hand-sewn eyelets, a large pannier, and a chemise edged with French lace.
